The Day Before Mother's Day
Tomorrow we celebrate Mother’s Day, and for many, this is a fun, joyous occasion where we celebrate or are celebrated. For others, it is a reminder of a source of pain.
This is for you.
This is for those hoping to be a Mother, but the hope has become painful.
This is for those who have lost their Mothers.
This is for those that may have a Mother by name only.
This is for those that do not know their Mothers.
This is for the Mothers who have lost a child.
This is for foster Mothers who were and are Mother’s to many but said goodbye.
This is for biological Mothers whose children are with strangers or who chose or are forced to say goodbye.
May we see you, may we not negate your pain, may we hold your grief with you, not just tomorrow, but all the moments in between.
I have practiced using the Psalms as prayers through different times of struggle, grief, injustice, and pain. Psalm 143 gave voice to the desperate prayers whispered during a series of unjust events I have faced.
